Where have I been? According to the Dashboard, I haven't been here since February 14, how rude to leave you in the lurch, I'll try to not let that happen again.
In my minimal defense, I was ill for a bit, almost two weeks. I had an interview for an Automotive Sales Consultant Position with a fine local livery on a Thursday and fell ill almost immediately after with the Influenza, shared locally by countless others. I spent most of the following week in a prone position, in and out of any sense of life as someone who is otherwise healthy would know it.
My fever broke on the sixth day and whatever I had promptly turned into Pneumonia. Breathing deeply was not possible, it was as if my lungs were filled with Jell-O, and my cough and wheeze would have reminded you of a much more elderly fellow on suffering from a more serious lung ailment. (Well, in my own mind, that is what you would have thought, I'm sure of it.)
A trip to the Urgent Care Center to share most of the Sunday with a room full of others in suffering eventually led to a Z-Pack prescription along with Codine-laced Robitussin Cough Formula that seemed to do the deed. I was feeling much better as I popped the last pill four days later. I think I finally snapped out of my illness induced stupor on February 27th, almost two weeks since the bug's birth. Probably as ill as I have been in a while.
I forgot to mention that while under the spell of Pneumonia, I completely lost my voice. That was very comical, frustrating but comical.
So, by the miracles of modern medicine, lots of fluids, bedrest, a very understanding Bride, a few Z-Pack meds, some Codine-laced and regular Robitussin and an undetermined amount of Ibuprofen, I have recovered. I still have coughing spells and I must retreat to the Puff's box occasionally to stop deluge out of my sinuses, but my strength and stamina are returning to pre-bug state.
I will return to a more regular time frame to keep you up-to-date on the happenings in my world but I again apologize for letting the time go by. None of us are promised tomorrow but it is nice to share today with you.
